Living with Cancer | Meditations of Peace and Love (Smith and Smith)
Spiritual Support for Cancer Patients
Receiving a diagnosis of cancer can create chaos. As a result of the diagnosis, many enter a world of surgeries, chemotherapies, and radiation therapies. Many fear death, regardless of how successful the treatment. Fear, anger, and confusion affect not only the person living with cancer, but also family members and friends.
Melody Kee Smith (who suffered from cancer and is deceased) and her husband Richard Smith dealt daily with the ups and downs of living with recurrent cancer. For Living with Cancer, they composed meditations that include brief prayers and the invitation to write or think through such issues as frustrations with health care, constructing support systems, and building a sense of the sacred in one's life. This book will uplift people living with cancer as well as their families and friends.
