Shalida Askanazi

Shalida A. Askanazi, whose debut memoir is That Girl's in a Wheelchair, is an author and advocate based in Cleveland, Ohio. Born with a rare disability called sacral agenesis, Shalida's work is heavily inspired by her experience as a disabled Afro-Latina woman in America and by mental health in the Black community. She speaks and writes to create space for those who are often overlooked in society.
