Good News, Good Sermons
In an update to her foundational work, Good News Preaching, Gennifer Brooks frames the essential methodology of good preaching: the importance of real, transformative good news.
This second edition of Good News Preaching accounts for changes in the landscape of church and culture—including a global pandemic and shrinking congregations—and argues that the good news of God’s grace and liberation is ever more essential for Christian discipleship.
"What a gift to preachers that Dr. Gennifer Benjamin Brooks has continued to think about offering good news as we preach." ~Rev. Dr. Valeri Bridgeman, Methodist Theological School in Ohio
"Brooks continues to teach us that every sermon should lead listeners to encounter the transformative presence of God!" ~Rev. Dr. Andrew Wymer, Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary
Regardless of the occasion or the scripture text, whether you are a seasoned preacher or new to the pulpit, the second edition of Good News Preaching will guide and encourage your sermon preparation.
