Preorder today. Coming this spring!
Loving our flesh and spirit
Our Lactating God is a deeply personal meditation on the everyday work of loving upon the embodied image of God within us. As her central theme, pastor and author Aubra Love uplifts Isaiah's image of the God who nurses and nurtures us: "Can a mother forget her suckling child?" (Isaiah 49:15)
Describing herself as a Black southern woman "with an often-made-up mind," Aubra Love interweaves the pains of Jim Crow segregation, colorism in the Black community, and women's actualization, with the healing of supportive relationships, nourishing love, and God's steadfast presence.
Our Lactating God is a memoir that (re)teaches us how to nurture our bodies and spirits in active resistance to dehumanizing forces.
